AU Aventus Aretino
Canon: Skyrim
Synopsis: [Canon] After a stranger pretending to be a member of the Dark Brotherhood fulfills young Aventus' Black Sacrament wish to murder Grelod the Kind (a horrible hag who runs the orphanage in Riften with an iron fist and cruel words towards the children), he vows to one day become an assassin himself, leaves his family's abandoned home in Winterhold and returns to Honorhall Orphanage.
[AU - Added Content] While in Riften again, he befriends many associates with the Thieves Guild, training in the arts of stealth and persuasion and making friends which may one day benefit his career as an assassin. Within two years, he is adopted by a noble family with a homestead outside of Falkreath.
Eventually, fate guides him to the abandoned Brotherhood Sanctuary near Falkreath, and, now of age, Aventus sets out to locate the Dark Brotherhood's New whereabouts. Seeing his conviction, the brotherhood convenes and agrees to reach out to him. A member seeks him out, Aventus eagerly agreeing to initiation tests and trials, and so his apprenticeship.
Now 23, Aventus is a full-fledged brother, and an assassin skilled at stealth kills using poisoned blades and a sharp tongue. He stands apart from other assassin's as the youngest member, most likely to still fall into a fit of childish giggling, as well as the best cooks among them. Each member has a quality which brings them respect among each other and the fear or discomfort of the average populace - Aventus' is his often Jekyll/Hyde personality.
He spends his time crafting poisons and sharpening daggers at the Dawnstar sanctuary, keeping up with his associates in the Thieves' Guild, and exploring between Dawnstar and Falkreath (frequently causing problems among simple-minded gamblers in Morthal). Of the assassins old and new to the Brotherhood since the Civil War in Skyrim, he reveres the Redguard Nazir as his master.
